Studying Jewellery at Laboratorio

The Jewellery workshops are designed for students wishing to focus their future on the world of antique and contemporary jewellery.

In this laboratory, you will obtain everything you need to develop a professional career in the world of jewellery, and you will acquire the ability to know how to use each of the techniques to be applied at will.

In these workshops, you will work in a stimulating training environment where creativity, innovation, originality and excellence are encouraged and valued.

As long as there are places and you have been admitted, you can start at any time. Our lessons are for small groups and you will be followed by our tutor, in accordance with your level at the start of the course. In these courses, we do not admit more than 12 participants per tutor in each class.

We will assist you with care and dedication, making sure that all your efforts and doubts are resolved at your own pace, accompanied by your tutors always with the utmost availability and commitment.

A maximum of 12 students per course allows us to follow the technical and artistic evolution of each student.

Courses are held on:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
In the morning: from 9,00 to 12,00
In the afternoon: from 13,00 to 16,00 or from 16,00 to 19,00

Laboratory Description

(Minimum a month per each level)

Creation of sculpted jewellery items.

The various types of wax and their ductility in moulding, the techniques for using lost-wax casting, the preparation of the wax and the systems for making it more or less mouldable, the modelling equipment, the weight ratios between the wax prototypes and the final product.

The techniques for using lost-wax casting, the instruments and machinery used throughout the entire process: from the moulding to the casting in hot silicon moulds and reproduction of the wax models with an injector.

Cleaning and finishing operations of the item created

Subjects & Duration

Basic Level

(Minimum a month)

Hands-on explanation of practical techniques, application of all the most important techniques, use of wax cutter, files, scrapers, emery cutters, burrs, etc.  Learn about the various types of wax: hard, medium, soft, plate, tube, block and wire. Model rings with various shank types.

Advanced Level

(Minimum a moth)

Development of different types of prototypes, rings, bracelets, pendants. Prepare bezels for cabochon, faceted and various types of stones. Selection of designs and casting, finishing and polishing of the cast prototypes. From modelling to casting with hot and cold silicone moulds

You will develop a workbook during the entire process including your projects, photographic images, drawings and applications that you have made yourself so you can present a professional portfolio.
At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate and diploma that will guarantee your knowledge and level attained.
