Why choose this course at Laboratorio Firenze?

Attending a fashion course in Florence is a unique opportunity that few can experience. The concept of fashion as we understand it today emerged in Florence, and more specifically in the Renaissance, with the introduction of new genres and a high degree of professionalism in sewing. Renaissance Italy saw the appearance of the richest and most spectacular costumes in history, with vivid colours and imaginative and original shapes, giving great importance to sleeves, pleats and vertical folds of the fabric, with fine embroidery and rich trimmings.

In these workshops we will work the moulage technique. Moulage is a three-dimensional design and production technique that allows great freedom in terms of design. From time immemorial, moulage has been a widely used technique in the field of haute couture.

As well as being the cradle of the Renaissance, Florence has a long tradition and a worldwide reputation in the world of fashion and art, perfectly intertwining tradition, contemporaneity and modernity.

In Florence you can visit the most interesting museums of Renaissance costumes and art. You will be able to participate in seminars that have been following this wonderful tradition for years and you will learn the techniques to be among the top professionals.

As long as there are places and you have been admitted, you can start at any time. Our lessons are for small groups and you will be followed by our tutor, in accordance with your level at the start of the course.
